A student’s learning profile is the complete picture of his/her learning strengths, and challenges. Assessments could include cognitive ability, processing needs, memory needs, phonological needs, fluency, language level as well as current attainment for reading, writing and maths. The profile will include a comprehensive and detailed report with personal and tailored recommendations to meet the individual child or young person's needs.
For students with persistent literacy difficulties across reading, writing, spelling and comprehension. This assessment will provide classroom teachers with clear recommendations on how to improve literacy skills, ensure access to the curriculum and can provide crucial evidence for extra time or other access arrangements. Our assessor holds a current APC and is an active member of the Dyslexia Guild.
For children and young people who present with sensory processing difficulties. This assessment will include the strategies and changes you could make to the environment to support the child or young person.
Our specialists have a wealth of experience in delivering a range of evidence based interventions and can model how these could be used within school settings. The interventions will depend on the nature of the difficulty but could include: Lego Therapy, managing anxiety, Draw and Talk Therapy, Zones of Regulation, Circle of Friends, Precision Teaching, improving literacy and numeracy skills.
SENCo advice and support to implement the graduated approach to support teaching and learning across the school and assess and consult on individual pupils. Including: support with Quality First Teaching and support with the completion of individual learning plans for children with SEND.
Evaluating the effectiveness of current SEND provision
A STRIVE SEND review will evaluate the effectiveness of a provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. The review will always include an action plan in priority order to enable swift and practical implementation of change, we can work alongside you to embed changes and train staff. The STRIVE SEND reviewer will work with a school to identify its strengths and also areas for development. It can lead to:
